Kevin T. Wolff, PhD

 

Kevin T. Wolff is an associate professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City. He earned his Ph.D. from the College of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Florida State University. Professor Wolff’s research interests include the spatial and temporal patterning of crime, juvenile justice, program evaluation, and quantitative methods. He was recently awarded a grant from the National Institute of Justice to study the association between changes in dynamic risk and offending trajectories among youth on juvenile probation in the State of Florida. His work has appeared in several peer-reviewed journals, including Justice Quarterly, the Journal of Research in Crime and Delinquency, and the Journal of Youth and Adolescence. As a member of the doctoral faculty, as well as the research mentor, Dr. Wolff oversees a wide range of research projects being led by doctoral students in the Ph.D. program. Outside of his academic work, he consults on a number of projects surrounding the use of risk assessment instruments and the evaluation of alternative to incarceration programs taking place in districts across the federal system. Finally, for his contribution to the field, he has recently received a number of research awards including The Feliks Gross Award from The City University of New York and best paper of the year award from Youth Violence and Juvenile Justice
