Jeanne Lackamp, MD, DFAPA, DACLP

 

Dr. Jeanne Lackamp, MD, DFAPA, DACLP is the director of the Pain Management Institute and director of the Division of Psychiatry and Medicine at the University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. She also is an associate professor of psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and lead of the Controlled Substance Quality Initiative for University Hospitals.

Trained as a consultation-liaison psychiatrist, Dr. Lackamp values the important interface between psychiatry and medicine. Her main focus is the provision of comprehensive care for patients with co-occurring medical and psychiatric concerns in the general hospital. In addition to direct patient care, Dr. Lackamp participates in many liaison activities to heighten clinician awareness of patients with psychiatric issues. She has presented widely on such topics both locally and nationally. Dr. Lackamp is past-president of both the Cleveland Consultation-Liaison Society and the Cleveland Psychiatric Society. She is also a Fellow of the Academy of Consultation Liaison Psychiatry, a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association, and a member of the Ohio Psychiatric Physicians Association.

Through her role as Director of both the Pain Management Institute and Division of Psychiatry and Medicine, Dr. Lackamp strives to bring the values of her Behavioral Health training into everything she does. This includes valuing patients and colleagues as individuals, eschewing pejorative labels, and rejecting bias when it is identified. Her areas of expertise include adult psychiatry, medical education, and psychiatric consultation.
